The entry is for the Council's 'Cycle Aylesbury' website to promote cycling in the town which has been written and designed by TAS Communications. Aylesbury is a cycling demonstration town and the website is a key communications tool to deliver the cycling campaign's message, Travel Faster, Get Fitter, Save Money.

As well as an information site on all aspects to cycling, safety and training, visitors can download local cycle route maps, post notices to buy and sell bikes and cycling equipment, book a Bike Buddy, enter competitions and find out about local cycling events. It is also a portal for other cycling related sites including educational resources for teachers and school children.

Says Darren Divall of Buckinghamshire County Council, who heads up the Cycle Aylesbury campaign, "This is a great achievement. The website was launched less than a year a go and has already proved to be a hugely successful and very cost effective communications channel for the campaign."

The Good Communication Awards aim to promote and encourage the public sector's efforts towards effective communication with its citizens and its workforce. The Awards ceremony takes place next week at the London Grosvenor Square Marriott.
