Sweet success for TAS

16th June 2008

East Yorkshire-based TAS Communications Ltd will be the only full-service communications company to attend the country's biggest annual conference for local authorities.

The annual Local Government Association (LGA) Conference draws 1,200 council leaders and chief executives from across the country. This year's event will take place next month (July) in Bournemouth.

Around 50 per cent of TAS's work is in the public sector and, says the company's managing director Simon Taylor, it is imperative that TAS has a high profile at the conference.

Simon added: "The LGA allows council leaders, chief officers, and leaders of the opposition from councils around the country to get together and exchange ideas and opinions on local and national issues. As a company that delivers work for local authorities we also need to be fully aware of the debates currently taking place and engage with all of the issues that affect local authority councillors and officers. In addition, the conference is a very important shop window for our services."

As in previous years, TAS will be able to demonstrate its creative and innovative flair to delegates. Reflecting the coastal location of this year's conference, delegates will be lured to the TAS stand with ice cream, flakes and hundreds and thousands and, once there, will be able to find out more about the company and its services, which include communications reviews, strategy development, interim management, strategic reviews and campaign management.

Simon Taylor said: "Our stand at conference should create quite a stir. Importantly, we will be able to explain the difference that we can make to local authorities who are looking to improve their reputation, strengthen their brand, improve CPA ratings and market their services more effectively.

"We have previously generated a large amount of new business from our presence at the conference. It's somewhat telling that we will be the only full-service communications agency present this year. We have become the consultancy of choice for many local authorities throughout the country."
