A leading East Yorkshire-based marketing, design and PR agency celebrates its fifth birthday in March.

TAS Communications Ltd, which operates from its headquarters in Eastgate, Beverley, was established in 2003. Since then the business, which has a wide range of public and private sector clients, has grown exponentially, winning a host of accounts, including being at the helm of the communications strategy for the £5.5bn Langeled Project, and increasing its turnover dramatically year-on-year. The multi award-winning company has also been identified as East Yorkshire’s biggest PR and advertising agency in a recent Leeds Business School survey.

And, says company founder and Managing Director Simon Taylor, that growth is set to continue.

He said: “It is a sign of our determination to succeed that we now handle communications for national and international clients and also work with many local authorities throughout the country.

“We will continue to grow. Five years is a milestone but in many ways we’re only at the beginning of our success story.”

TAS moved to its current base in Beverley in 2007, a move that saw the company invest over £3/4m in the Grade II listed building on Eastgate.

TAS continues to work locally and handles around 200 clients in Hull and the East Riding and, over the last three years, has worked with 50 public sector organisations. Regional and national contracts include E.ON, Philips, BP and the Yorkshire International Business Convention, with international clients as far away as Norway and Spain.

From its origins as a PR and communications TAS can now fulfil all of its clients’ marketing, PR, design, website design and development requirements in-house.

Company director Andrew Acum added: “In five years the company has developed beyond recognition via a programme of careful strategic planning. We now have a long-term plan that will see us continuing to increase sales and profit margins.”

Simon Taylor added: “In many ways we have changed the perceptions of our clients and enabled them to realise how important effective communication is. We will not forget our roots and will continue to work closely with business on a local level but, at the same time, we will always be looking to move forward and secure accounts with the biggest clients.”
