An East Yorkshire-based communications agency is celebrating after it swept the boards at the region’s industry awards ceremony last night. (NOVEMBER 1)
Not only did TAS Communications win the top award at The Yorkshire and Lincolnshire CIPR Pride awards, when it took place at The Queens Hotel, in Leeds, but also picked up four other prestigious awards.

TAS, based in Trinity Lane, Beverley, is officially the best communications agency in the region after picking up the coveted Grand Prix award – which is the top award of the night, given to the most outstanding agency overall.
The glittering awards ceremony brings together the industry’s cream of the crop and staff at TAS were also delighted to pick up and award for The PR Team of the Year.
In addition to this, the team scooped a further two awards – Community Campaign and Relationship Management Programme – for their high profile work with Norwegian oil and energy company Hydro, on the three year communications project for the Langeled pipeline which runs between Norway and east coast village Easington.
The company – which is a full service communications agency working in both the public and private sectors – also won the Integrated PR Campaign award for its work with Halton Borough Council, in Runcorn and Widnes, promoting healthy living to residents.
It’s a huge achievement for a company which was only founded three years ago and saw a 214 per cent increase in turnover from £350,000 to £1,100,000 in its last financial year, and is well on target to achieve £2.5m this year.
TAS Communications delivers everything from public relations, multi-media services and event management to marketing services, web design and full graphic design.
Simon Taylor, TAS Communications’ managing director, is thrilled with the awards. He said: “It is an achievement in itself to even be shortlisted for awards of this calibre, but to win the Grand Prix award, along with four others, is something else. This is testament to what TAS Communications has achieved in such a short space of time and it’s excellent news that we have been recognised as the top agency in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.”
TAS Communications is due to move into its new, state-of-the-art headquarters in Spring 2007. Mr Taylor has commissioned a £500,000 project to transform a Grade II listed building in Eastgate, Beverley, into a 5,000 square foot office space which will see the company expand even further.
